The most noticeable changes on the new Suzuki Hayabusa compared to its predecessor are the new rear-view mirrors, new all-LED headlights and turn indicators. Under the fuel-tank lies another change in form of the power unit.

Powering the new Hayabusa is a slightly reworked 1,340cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled inline-four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 187bhp at 9,700rpm and 150Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.

The engineers working at Suzuki have also put their effort into bringing the kerb weight down by 2 kgs, enabling the new Hayabusa to tip scales at 264 kgs. However, thanks to strict norms that mandate all motorcycles to be equipped with saree guard and number plate holder, the kerb weight jumps back to 266kgs.

Despite these changes, the top speed is still officially rated at 299 kmph. However, managing the speed now becomes a lot easier with the addition of a wide variety of electronic aids like the six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), traction control, anti-lift control, engine braking management and many more.
