Apple’s powerful yet compact 2021 14-inch MacBook Pro is down to $1,599 on Amazon. That’s a massive $400 off its MSRP and its lowest price in the last 30 days.
While the 2021 MacBook Pros are frequently discounted, you rarely get to see such a deal on the entry-level 14-inch model.
14-inch MacBook Pro is extremely powerful for its size
Don’t let the 14-inch MacBook Pro’s size fool you. Despite its form factor, the M1 Pro chip inside the machine brings a massive leap in CPU, GPU and AI performance. Apple claims the chip is “scary fast” and “offers unprecedented levels of pro performance.”
The entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro houses an 8-core CPU with a 14-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. That’s two CPU and GPU cores less than the variant you get inside the $2,499 variant. But the chip is still powerful enough to handle your demanding photo and video editing workloads. The 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display is another highlight of the machine, with its 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.
As for ports, you get three Thunderbolt 4 ports, a headphone jack, an SDXC slot, and an HDMI port. There’s also a MagSafe 3 connector that can fast charge the machine to 50% in 30 minutes. However, Apple bundles a 67W USB-C power adapter with the base 14-inch MacBook Pro. You need to use a 96W USB-C charger for fast charging the machine.
Grab the 14-inch MacBook Pro with a massive 20% discount
With a price tag of $1,999, the 14-inch MacBook is expensive. But with a $400 discount on Amazon, you can grab it for $1,599, making it a fair bit cheaper. You can also grab the 1TB storage variant of the machine with the 10-core M1 Pro CPU and 96W USB-C power adapter for $2,099 and save $400 off its MSRP.
Apple is expected to unveil the 2022 MacBook Pro refresh later this month. The M2 Pro and Pro Max chips are unlikely to bring any significant leap in performance, so you can go for the 2021 model and save your money instead.
