The 2022 Harvey Awards nominees have been announced ahead of the annual ceremony at this year’s New York Comic Con.

Writer James Tynion IV has two Book of the Year nominations, and Filipe Melo and Juan Cavia’s Ballad for Sophie has earned two nominations – Book of the Year and Best International Book. These are the only multiple nominees at this year’s awards, which are named for MAD creator Harvey Kurtzman and presented by ReedPop, with a Steering Committee co-chaired by Nellie Kurtzman, John Lind, and Chip Mosher.

Harvey Awards nominees were selected by a curated committee of diverse industry voices, and select professionals have been preapproved to vote for the winners. Creators, publishing professionals, retailers, educators, librarians, and press who were not preapproved to vote can apply to do so at the Harvey Awards Apply to Vote page. Voting concludes September 2.
