Perodua has released some updated booking numbers surrounding its latest people move, the all-new 2022 Perodua Alza.

Following its launch back on 20-July, President and Chief Executive Officer of Perodua, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad has revealed that they have received 39,000 bookings for the all-new 2022 Perodua Alza, out of which, 65 percent of the bookings were for the top-spec AV variant.
Perodua also added that 70 percent of the buyers opted for the GearUp bodykit, which adds another RM 2,500 to the price of the MPV.

Elsewhere, Perodua reiterated that they aim to manufacture 3,000 units of the all-new 2022 Alza a month. With roughly 39,000 bookings for the new 7-seater MPV, the waiting period currently stands between 8 to 10 months.

That said, in an effort to reduce wait times, Perodua could increase the production of the Alza to 4,000 units a month by reducing the number of Aruz produced a month, seeing that both the Alza and Aruz are manufactured on the same production line.
As it stands, Perodua now has two 7-seaters on offer – the Perodua Alza and Perodua Aruz -, both of which are aimed at a similar buyer demography. That said, according to Dato’ Sri Zainal, the Alza is expected to cannibalize less than 3 percent of the Aruz’s sales.
For those who booked an Aruz, the waiting period is less than 3 months.

As a brief recap, Perodua currently offers 3 variants of the all-new 2022 Perodua Alza, with prices starting from RM 62,500 for the Alza 1.5 X variant and tops out at RM 75,500 for the Alza 1.5 AV variant. All variants are fitted with Perodua’s ASA 3.0 ADAS suite, as well as 6 airbags and LED headlights.
