The Fire Emblem series has been around for over 30 years, and has produced a number of leading lads and ladies of many kingdoms, continents, and allegiances. A whole bevy of them are coming back for Fire Emblem Engage in the form of “Emblem Rings,” items that allow you to invoke their spirits in battle for massive power. And while the list of returning stars has been hinted at from the very first reveal trailer, we now have official looks at all of them. We’re gonna go in the order of their game’s release. Voice actors will be included for each one, but we don’t have confirmation for a lot of the ones in English – anybody we’re unsure of we’ll put an asterisk next to just to be safe.

Marth from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem

(VA: Hikaru Midorikawa [JP], Yuri Lowenthal [EN])

guides, switch

Hero of Altea and protagonist of the first and third Fire Emblem games, Marth wielded the holy Falchion in his quest to slay the Dark Dragon Medeus, and now he lends his strength to Alear. True to his status as the most iconic hero in the franchise, he appears to be the most prominent returning character in the game’s story.

Celica from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (previously Fire Emblem Gaiden)

(VA: Nao Toyama [JP], Erica Lindbeck [EN])

guides, switch

Priestess and lost princess of Zofia, who together with her childhood friend and future husband Alm took on the evil god Duma that plagued the continent of Valentia. Celica wielded both sword and sorcery in her original game, but appears focused on magic this time around. Alm isn’t in the base game, but he seems like an easy prediction for DLC.

Sigurd from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War

(VA: Toshiyuki Morikawa [JP], Grant George [EN])

guides, switch

Crusader, knight of Chalphy and champion of Grandbell who conquered half a continent and fell in love with a mysterious forest maiden. True to his legendary status as a mounted lord, he provides high movement in Engage, providing you with the power and range to win battles. His son, Seliph, seems like another easy prediction for DLC.

Leif from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776

(VA: Kenichi Suzumura [JP], Nicolas Roye [EN]*)

guides, switch

Son of Quan and Ethlyn, tragic prince of Thracia, and nephew of Sigurd who seeks to reclaim his homeland. Leif grew from scrappy and thrifty beginnings in his own game to become master of all in the latter half of Genealogy of the Holy War, using that mastery to always provide you advantageous weapon advantage in Engage when you have him equipped. Let’s hope he can develop some self-confidence in this one.

Roy from Fire Emblem: Binding Blade

(VA: Jun Fukuyama [JP], Ray Chase [EN]*)

guides, switch

Our boy who debuted in Smash Bros. before his own Fire Emblem game proper, who freed the continent of Elibe from the tyrannical Zephiel in the place of his sickly father. In Engage, he has a good balance of offense and defense, with the ability to temporarily raise your level if you have him equipped. His fiery power and lionheart spirit make him look more mature than ever.

Lyn from Fire Emblem: Blazing Blade

(VA: Makiko Ohmoto [JP], Wendee Lee [EN])

guides, switch

The first Fire Emblem protagonist for many a non-Japanese fan, Lady Lyndis grew up in the plains of Sacae before discovering she was Caelin royalty and fighting to reunite with her grandfather, the one family member she has left. Her famous speed and ferocity are put to good use in this game, allowing you to attack without fear of counterattack and even create afterimage clones as decoy. Her buddies Eliwood and Hector don’t appear to be in the game, making the two of them (especially the latter) also easy DLC predictions.

Eirika & Ephraim from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

(VA: Kaori Mizuhashi & Taku Yashiro [JP], Kira Buckland & Greg Chun [EN]*)

guides, switch

Twin stars of Renais, who prevented the return of Magvel’s demon king and thwarted the ambitions of their longtime friend Lyon. These two come as a pair in Engage, operating off the same Emblem – you can swap between the two depending on which abilities you need. (Eirika can pierce defense, Ephraim can absorb some enemy HP.) The two of them will appear together for super attacks. Nice to see the twins sticking together when other pairs/trios have been largely split.

Ike from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

(VA: Michihiko Hagi [JP], Greg Chun [EN]*)

guides, switch

The mercenary protagonist who saved the continent of Tellius twice – once from an invasion of Mad King Ashnard, the second time by literally killing a god. One of the strongest Fire Emblem protagonists ever retains his bulk in Engage, offering high defense and the ability to take half damage at the cost of having zero evasion. He’s one of the most beloved FE Lords ever for a reason, and we hope his humility and strength are out in full force in this one as well.

Micaiah from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

(VA: Natsuko Kuwatani [JP], Veronica Taylor [EN]*)

guides, switch

Silver-haired maiden who fought to liberate Daein after brutal occupation from Begnion, going on to war for her country despite grievances. As one of the few FE Lords who has ever had healing powers, she can amplify the effects of staves and even heal all allies by reducing your HP to 1 (a translation of her ‘Sacrifice’ ability from Radiant Dawn). Given her unusual backstory, I’m curious to see how she interacts with other characters.

Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening

(VA: Yuu Kobayashi [JP], Alexis Tipton [EN]*)

guides, switch

Heir to the Falchion, who time travelled into the past to save her world from a doomed future. Her skills in Engage reflect Awakening’s focus on bonds/Pair Up, guarding adjacent units and utilizing their strength in super attacks. Lucina was actually the tritagonist in her name after Chrom and Robin, who might appear together as a DLC Unit.

Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates

(VA: Satomi Satou [JP], Marcella Lentz-Pope [EN])

guides, switch

Draconic heir torn between two families and nation, forced to choose their allegiances. Corrin appears in female form in the game, using the “Dragon Vein” ability from Fates to change terrain, and also being able to inflict buffs and debuffs. She has a big ol’ messy family that could potentially provide DLC Emblems, too.

Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses

(VA: Yuusuke Kobayashi [JP], Zach Aguilar [EN])

guides, switch

The demon of ashes who chose an allegiance in the massive Fódlan war that engulfed nations and friendships. While silent in Three Houses, Byleth (in male form) speaks here, imparting buffs to nearby allies and using Divine Pulse to cause attacks that would’ve missed to hit. We wonder if he’ll banter with Sothis inside his head at all.

That’s everybody in the main game. But there are DLC characters too. And, from Wave One of Engage’s Expansion Pass (Downloadable Content that costs money):

Tiki from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem

(VA: Sumire Morohoshi [JP], Mela Lee [EN]*)

guides, switch

The slumbering divine dragon who got brainwashed before being freed by Marth (whom she calls “Mar-Mar”). She would later appear as an adult in Awakening, but is in child form this time around, using her draconic powers to your advantage. Wearing her Emblem will increase your stat growths, meaning you’re more likely to gain stats on level-up.

Edelgard, Dimitri, & Claude from Fire Emblem: Three Houses

(VA: Ai Kakuma & Kaito Ishikawa & Toshiyuki Toyonaga [JP], Tara Platt & Chris Hackney & Joe Zieja [EN]*)

guides, switch

The heads of the titular houses in Three Houses, each of whom had a very different path to follow. It looks like, similar to Eirika and Ephraim, you’ll be able to swap between which Lord you want depending on the desired effect. Not much is detailed currently about their abilities, however.

Phew! That’s all the Emblems from past games coming to Engage in the base game! Check back in the future for more DLC updates.
