A new set of Geekbench scores which could belong to the new “M2 Max” chip has appeared on Geekbench's database.
The score is attributed to a Mac simply listed as “Mac14,6” and according to the system information identifier, it has an M2 Max chip with a whopping 96GB of memory.
Earlier today, we reported that Steam's database shows two unreleased Macs with the identifiers “Mac14,6” and “Mac15,4.”
Perhaps more importantly, it managed a single-core score of 2027 and a multi-core score of 14,888.
To put these numbers into perspective, an M1 Max chip typically records single-core scores of around 1,755 and multi-core scores in the region of 12,334.
This means single-core and multi-core score improvements of around 15% and 20% respectively for the M2 Max.
Apple is widely expected to announce updated versions of the 14 and 16-inch Macbook Pro in the early part of next year.
