Ample Electronic Technology, which supplies conductive pastes and thick-film conductive materials, expects to log stable shipments in the second half of the year, driven by strong demand for high-end automotive, 5G and green energy applications,
The company’s second-quarter 2022 revenues grew 7.2% sequentially to NT$303 million (US$10.1 million), and gross margin advanced 1.8pp sequentially and 2.83pp annually to 22.83%. Its revenues for the January-June period plunged 34.4% on year to NT$587 million.
Ample said its shipments of diverse pastes including silver rear paste for photovoltaic cells remained stable in the second quarter, though traditionally it was an off season, enabling its revenues for the quarter to increase sequentially.
The company noted it will step up developing new product lines and new clients, particularly associated with automotive, 5G and new energy applications, to effectively drive up its business results.
The company stressed it will focus more on developing high-margin products, such as low-temperature sintered silver pastes for use in third-generation compound semiconductors, which are being increasingly needed for EV, renewable energy and high-frequency communications applications.
Ample has sent samples of the new offerings to potential clients at home and abroad for validation, and may start commercial production in 2023, according to industry sources.
The sources said low-temperature sintered silver paste boasts high thermal conductivity and good adhesiveness for packaging substrates, able to provide stable growth momentum for the company in the medium and long term.
