PETALING JAYA: Naza Premira, the sole and official importer of Aprilia brand of motorcycles in Malaysia, introduced the new Aprilia SR Max 300 – a maxi scooter that embraces the Aprilia sporting spirit.
Inclusive of GST, the scooter is priced at RM31,800, but the first 50 customers only pay RMRM28,800, and comes with a two-year or 20,000km manufacturer’s warranty – which ever comes first.
The scooter is equipped with 15.5-litre fuel tank and has a 1,515mm wheelbase while measuring 2,110mm-long and 780mm-wide.
The chassis uses high strength tubular steel for its double cradle trellis frame that houses a 278cc four-cylinder four-stroke engine.
Aprilia says its 161kg (dry weight) scooter is suitable for every day use and comes combined with agility and practicality, thanks to a CVT automatic gearbox mated to the engine, which produces 22hp at 7,250rpm and 23Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.
The 815mm-high saddle is made from an ergonomic sport fabric with lumbar support and the front features a screen to enhance convenience and comfort levels.
It rides on a 15-inch wheel with a 260mm disc brake mounted on it and uses a 120/70 tubeless tyre at the front, while the rear’s 14-inch wheel gets 240mm disc brake and uses a 140/60 series tubeless tyre.
Taking on uneven roads are the scooter’s hydraulic shock absorber with a 35mm traditional telescopic fork at the front and a pair of three-position adjustable spring preload shock absorbers at the rear.
The Aprilia SR Max 300 is available in two colour schemes of Nero Aprilia and Bianco Glam.
“Like all previous Aprilia scooters, the SR Max remains a loyal companion and is a bike to be kept and loved as it does more than just satisfy the need for transportation, it becomes part of the family,” said Naza World Group of Companies group executive chairman & group CEO Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin.
