The new Batmobile Lego Technic set has 1,360 pieces.
One of the most iconic movie cars ever made, the Batmobile has evolved since it first appeared in the 1960s Batman TV series. Those who grew up watching Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy will remember the Batmobile as the military-inspired Tumbler tank. For the upcoming Batman reboot movie simply called The Batman, the Batmobile has been redesigned once again, this time evoking the style of classic muscle cars like the Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger. It looks badass in the trailer.
Before The Batman releases in theaters next year, Lego has announced the new Batmobile is getting the Technic treatment.
Since it was only shown in dimly lit scenes during the trailer, the new Lego model offers a better look at the redesigned Batmobile.
One of the new Batmobile’s most distinctive design features is the jet engine fitted at the back as a homage to the Batmobile featured in the 1989 Batman movie starring Michael Keaton as the Caped Crusader. In a cool touch, the detailed Lego model includes two illuminated bricks, with a red light adding a glow to the exposed rear engine and the yellow brick lighting up the front grille.
In total, the Lego Technic Batmobile has 1,360 pieces to keep builders busy. With the rear flame, the Lego Batmobile measures around 17 inches long, six inches wide, and four inches tall. The front wheels have steering, the rear wheels have a differential, and the doors and hood can be opened.
Retailing for $99.99, the new Lego Technic Batmobile will be available on November 1. Fans will need to wait a little longer to see it in action on the big screen, however. Originally, The Batman starring Robert Pattinson was supposed to be released in June 2021, but pandemic has delayed the superhero film until March 4, 2022.
