Dragon Quest Treasures, a spin-off prequel of Dragon Quest XI, forgoes the turn-based combat of it’s predecessor for more exploration and action-oriented gameplay. Unfortunately the controls do not always feel very intuitive, particularly the sequence of buttons needed to be used to fire your catapult. We wish we could tell you differently, but you won’t be able to remap any buttons or controls in Dragon Quest Treasures.
Can you change controls in Dragon Quest Treasures?

No, unfortunately that is not included in Dragon Quest Treasures very limited settings menu. You can, however, review the main overworld controls from your settings menu. From the overworld, press + to enter your main menu, then toggle down three times to highlight the blue Options icon in the lower left corner and select it. From here press X, and you’ll be shown a controller map detailing the various controls.
This infographic will only show you the overworld controls. It will not show the controls used while operating your catapult, which is arguably the least user friendly, particularly while starting out. While holding down ZR to aim your catapult you will be able to see some on screen prompts, but that is all. Not the best system for the heat of auto-battle.
