BMW Group Asia has a new boss

BMW Group Asia will have a new managing director starting from 1 September, with Lars Nielsen (above) replacing Christopher Wehner, who will be relocating back to Germany to take up a role with Mini. Nielsen will have some very big shoes to fill, as he takes over from Wehner’s legacy that has seen BMW emerge as the top luxury car brand here last year. The electric vehicle (EV) movement is ramping up speed in Singapore, and it’s encouraging to know that the relevant infrastructure is being put in place to encourage the take up of EVs here. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced that it will offer grants for non-landed private residences to install electric car chargers, while Tesla has also set up its first Superchargers in Singapore.
