CD Projekt RED has announced a massive slate of projects in the pipeline, including a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel codenamed ‘Orion’, a new Witcher trilogy, a Witcher title in development at The Molasses Flood under the codename of ‘Project Sirius’, and a story-driven open-world Witcher RPG title being made by a third-party studio comprising “Witcher veterans”, under the codename of ‘Project Canis Majoris’.
The Molasses Flood, whose previous games include Drake Hollow and The Flame in the Flood, has entered pre-production on its Witcher project, and promises an “unforgettable story” for existing Witcher fans and newcomers alike. More than 60 staff are working on the game, with CD Projekt RED supporting the studio it acquired last year.
The first entry in CD Projekt’s new Witcher trilogy has also entered pre-production, with all chapters scheduled for release within a six-year period. It’s codenamed Project Polaris, and has over 150 staff currently working on it, while a new IP dubbed ‘Project Hadar’ is in development at a third-party studio.
As for Project Orion, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077, this will apparently “prove the full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe”, according to CD Projekt RED. No release windows for any of the projects accompany the lineup, but you can safely assume that all of this will be some way off.
