What Toyota Tundra owners love most about their pickups

The Toyota Tundra has gained new loyal fans in 2022, at least according to many of the industry critic reviews and ownership studies. Toyota redesigned the already successful truck and brought in all the real-life applications, comforts, conveniences, and streamlined performance today’s truck owners want.

J.D. Power verified truck owners and recently ranked which of those truck amenities happened to be Tundra owners’ favorites. Those surveyed hailed the Tundra’s exterior styling, the streamlined powertrain, and the driving feel as their top “most favorite things” about their trucks.

In descending order, other amenities were also reviewed as favorites, including a feeling of safety, setup and starting, and driving comfort.

Among the least favorite aspects of the 2022 Toyota Tundra are interior design elements and fuel economy, both of which aren’t necessarily unfavorable. They just happen to be the least favorites in the J.D. Power survey categories.

Toyota’s updates seem to have paid off in a big way

Toyota Tundra fans rejoiced at the news of their beloved pickup getting a much-needed redesign for 2022. And as Edmunds described, Toyota was listening intently when they went back to the drawing board.

This third-gen truck saw key enhancements, like an overhauled frame, new powertrains, a new rear suspension, and modernized interior designs. You can choose between two turbocharged engines, the base turbo V6, capable of outperforming the outgoing V8 engine, and an option hybrid V6.

In addition to these upgrades, Toyota introduced the Toyota-branded Audio Multimedia infotainment system. It’s a cousin to the Lexus interface with which you might already be familiar. But this new infusion of intuitive tech brings:

  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Standard “Hey Toyota” Voice Assistance
  • Cloud-Based Navigation
  • Simultaneous, Dual Phone Pairing
  • Real-Time OTA Updates

Taking a look at all the latest updates, it’s clear that Toyota paid attention this time around and carefully brought the much-needed and high-value amenities today’s truck owners want most.

What else J.D. Power says about the Toyota Tundra

To explore further what the J.D. Power reviewers had to say about each aspect of the 2022 Toyota Tundra, you can find their first-hand experiences in this report.

Overall, however, their sentiments applaud Toyota’s move to address the two most significant Tundra concerns of models past. Both estimated fuel ratings and the infotainment system, while the least favorite among consumers have received the boosts they needed to compete with top rival pickups.

The Tundra averaged 22.5 mpg for the J.D. Power crew and the 14-inch infotainment touchscreen, with multimedia interaction upgrades, both huge wins for the 2022 Toyota Tundra.

Overall, the Toyota Tundra has officially taken its place among the best in this truck segment. And with the automaker’s reputation for quality, reliability, and durability, truck fans know this 2022 model is a surefire winner.

When you take a test drive for yourself, you’ll appreciate all the updates. And you might just become a fierce Toyota Tundra fan and owner, too.
