International speakers will investigate challenges with autonomous vehicles moving forward.

A conference focusing on autonomous vehicles (AVs) is being held in Queenstown next year.
Being organised by ITS NZ and taking place on February 8 and 9, its theme is solving public transport’s first and last-mile challenge.
It’s an opportunity to learn from international leaders and New Zealand experts over two days about using autonomous vehicles for public transport.
In partnership with Ohmio Automotion, it will coincide with a meeting of the ITS TC204 standards committee.
Speakers and attendees at the event will include experts on AVs and intelligent transportation systems, policy and infrastructure. Speakers from the US, Europe, South Korea and Australia will be attending.
Themes and sessions include the value proposition and contribution to transport outcomes, and the development of technology and standards. Also on the agenda will be policy and infrastructure requirements, and current and emerging opportunities to deploy autonomous first and last-mile solutions.
There will also be a demonstration of Auckland-based Ohmio’s driverless shuttle, pictured. Visit www.itsnz.org for more information.
