The new song will be featured in the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games for Nintendo Switch.
Artist Ed Sheeran has partnered with Pokemon for a new song, “Celestial.”
The music video, embedded below, features a mix of live-action sequences and animation, with various Pokemon like Pikachu, Charmander and Squirtle appearing.
The song will also be featured in the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet video games, which will launch for the Nintendo Switch this November.
This isn’t the first time Sheeran has partnered with Pokemon. Last November, the musician had a special performance featured in Pokemon Go. The performance was accompanied by an in-game event starring water-type starter Pokemon — the type Sheeran always chooses when he begins a Pokemon RPG, according to the official Pokemon Go blog.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are set to launch on Nov. 18. The pair are set in a brand-new, open-world region called Paldea, which is home to a variety of new Pokemon and characters. For the first time in the series, players will be able to team up and explore the region cooperatively.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available to preorder at various retailers. Everyone who purchases a copy before Feb. 28, 2023, will be able to receive a special Pikachu in their game as a free bonus. Nintendo is also releasing a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet-themed Nintendo Switch OLED ahead of the games on Nov. 4.
