Besides relaunching the Twitter Blue subscription, the social media platform could soon allow users to type up to 4,000 characters in a tweet. It’s worth mentioning that the current limit is 280, so it’s a pretty big increment by the time it rolls out.
CEO Elon Musk replied with a ‘Yes’ when asked about the matter. Of course, a ‘yes’ is still vague, so we should wait for an official confirmation to prove it’s happening. In 2017, the platform only increased the character limit from 140 to 280. Therefore, 4,000 is a huge jump compared to that.
Previous reports suggested that Twitter may make it easier for users to break up long chains of texts into multiple tweets as part of a thread. However, this idea might get ditched since 4,000 characters would allow users to post whatever they have to say in just one tweet.
