What Jeep was used in Jurassic Park?
The 1993 Jurassic Park movie featured a fleet of Jeep Wranglers YJs. In the movie, park staff use them to traverse the island. The production crew modified beige-colored Wranglers with iconic red decals.

The Jeep Wrangler “Staff Vehicles” in the first Jurassic Park movie are all soft top Wranglers with manual transmissions. They belong to the Wrangler’s “YJ” generation and are “Sahara” trims. They also have been modified. These Jeeps have bright red rims, matching red strips over each fender, and a large red “Jurassic Park” logo on each door.
Because the front stripe of each Jeep in the Jurassic Park movie contains a unique number, it is easy to track which vehicle is which. Jeeps 18, 29, 12, and 10 all play a central role in the 1993 Jurassic Park film. Jeeps 18 and 29 both reappear in 2015’s Jurassic World.
How much does a Jurassic Park Jeep cost?
Your very own Jurassic Park Jeep is one of the easiest replica movie cars to build. The Jeep Wrangler “YJ”–with its unique square headlights–is one of the least valuable generations of the SUV. Many fans of Jurassic Park and Jeep Wranglers don’t bother with building a perfect, beige-colored YJ replica of the Wrangler from the movie. Owners of Wranglers from many different generations buy Jurassic Park decals or magnets for their Jeep’s doors to upgrade it with some eye-catching flare.

Did Jeep ever build a Jurassic Park edition?
Shockingly, Jeep has never released a Jurassic Park edition of its Wrangler. Perhaps it could never come to a licensing agreement. But that hasn’t prevented Jeep from using new movie releases to raise awareness of its expedition-ready brand.

As Olivier Francois, chief marketing officer of FCA told Forbes, “The Jeep is a real character and a current one in the Jurassic film.” It’s unsurprising that Jeep capitalized on the release of the most recent Jurassic film with a TV spot featuring the new Jeep Wrangler 4xe hybrid and a cute baby dinosaur.
