Airbus and Europe’s recent manned-unmanned mission to take down a fictitious warlord was a success, and its demonstration mission showed that it is effective in eliminating massive threats. This featured defense system gave birth to the “Future Combat Air System” (FCAS), a strategic defense program for future ventures of the European government.
It centers on the use of both manned planes and unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs, one that would combine both machines and humans in taking down future threats.

Airbus announced via a press release that its latest venture with Europe is to center on a new manned-unmanned flight demonstration to usher in a new era of aerial defense in the continent. The company calls this the Multi-Domain Flight Demonstration (MDFD), and it involved almost 10 vehicles to undergo a simulation to take down a “rogue warlord” and its defense systems.
The demonstration deployed two fighter jets and one helicopter which all had pilots maneuvering the aircraft, alongside five (5) unmanned aircraft to provide support.
According to Airbus, its recent MDFD showed how ten assets connected in a single network are capable of taking down a massive target, both featuring autonomous and person-controlled defense systems.
Future Combat Air System for Defense
Airbus joined hands with defense experts including Bundeswehr and the Finnish Defense Forces. It also includes industry partners MBDA Germany, Patria, HAT.tec, and Robonic to deliver the Future Combat Air System.
According to Interesting Engineering, the team’s demonstration shows its defense applications for the future of this system, to use for Europe’s advancements.

Airplanes are one of the most highly-regarded defense systems in the world, as they can appear in a short period to deliver massive loads against enemy forces, with fewer casualties for one’s side.
One significant development for the future of aircraft in the military is making its vessels capable of going hypersonic, one that would help ground troops see a faster response to their call for help.
The mix of the different branches of the military makes this possible, especially with the multiple focuses of the government to modernize its defense systems.
Different focuses center on bringing multiple defense systems for the world, one that includes both manned and unmanned aerial vehicles to provide more security for certain needs. Two of the leading stealth bombers in the present come from China’s H20 Stealth Bomber aircraft and the United States B-21 Raider which are yet to launch this month.
With the world’s focus and advancements centering on a better system for their aircraft needs, Europe and Airbus are focusing on delivering the collaboration between man and machine to deliver the utmost security for the continent.
And not only that, the FCAS will soon be operational for Europe, a system that could bring destruction to its enemies.
