Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut announced, new Iki island expansion added

Sucker Punch Productions, the makers of the hit third-person action game Ghost of Tsushima, have announced a Director’s Cut of the game which adds lots of new content to the original game. The Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut launches on August 20 and can be preordered for Rs 4,999 for PS5 and for Rs 3,999 for PS4 in India.
In the US and other countries, the game can be pre-ordered for $69.99/ €79.99 / £69.99 on PS5 and $59.99 / €69.99 / £59.99 on PS4. For those who already have the base Ghost of Tsushima game on PS4, they can pre-order an upgrade to Director’s Cut on PS4 for US $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99.
With the Director’s Cut, the samurai-themed game set on the island of Tsushima has now expanded to another island called Iki where another mystery awaits Jin Sakai, the warrior ‘Ghost’ who single-handedly terrorised the Mongol troops that had snatched the island from the control of the Japanese. Here is a rundown on all things new the Director’s Cut is going to add to the base game.
The Iki island: New villain, the dark secret of clan Sakai
The Iki island expands the storyline of Ghost of Tsushima. Jin discovers that the island has been seized by a mysterious Mongol tribe. The leader of the tribe is a shaman named Ankhsar Khatun or “the Eagle”. “As both a khatun and a shaman, she is not only a conqueror of nations, but a shepherd of souls. And the danger she presents to Jin and his people is unlike any they have faced.”, says the blogpost by Sucker Punch Productions, the developers of the game. Also, clan Sakai holds a dark secret which Jin can discover only by going to Iki island, a place the Japanese haven’t given much thought to for decades.

Other bonus content
The Director’s Cut also adds the Legends online co-op mode, a digital mini art book, one Technique Point, Charm of Hachiman’s Favor, Hero of Tsushima Skin Set that comes with Golden Mask, Sword Kit, Horse and Saddle.
It also comes with the game director’s commentary wherein the creative team, with the help of a renowned Japanese historian, takes a deeper look at the game world and how it compares to the real world events that inspired it.
