Google's new Pixel smartphone series is coming this week and Indians will also get a chance to use them this year.

features, mobiles features, how to, android

Google Pixel 7 series is launching on October 6 and this year Google is bringing its flagship lineup to India as well. Google has already given us a good look at the new Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro smartphones that will be vying for a space in the flagship arena with Apple and Samsung also battling it out. The Pixel 7 series is expected to get the new-gen Tensor chip, which first made its debut with the Pixel 6 series last year.

Google will make the Pixel 7 series the first set of phones to get Android 13 out of the box. But there is still a lot to dissect, especially from what Google can do with the photography chops on the Pixel 7 series this year. Here are all the details you need about the Pixel 7 launch date, event time, expected features and more.

Google Pixel 7 And Pixel 7 Pro Launch Date, Event Time, Where To Watch Live

Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones will be unveiled on October 6 when Google will be hosting its virtual MadeByGoogle event on Thursday. The live event will be streamed on Google’s YouTube page at 7:30 PM IST. We don’t have any details about the Pixel 7 series India launch date as of now.

Google Pixel 7 And Pixel 7 Pro Expected Price In India

Google Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro prices are expected to start around Rs 52,000 and Rs 75,000, respectively. These are primarily the global prices of the Pixel 7 series, so it is possible that the Pixel 7 series in India might start from around Rs 60,000. Pixel 7 phones go on pre-order in India on October 6 at 9:30 AM.

Google Pixel 7 And Pixel 7 Pro: Specifications and Features

Google has generally become the official leaker these days, and once again, the company has revealed plenty of details about the Pixel 7 phones. There are even leaks about the devices that include the detailed specs sheet of the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. Google had teased the new Pixel phones at the Google I/O 2022 keynote this year, and now it is time for the big event.

Upgrading To Second-Gen Tensor Chip

Google became the latest hardware brand to develop its in-house chipset which was introduced with the Pixel 6 series last year. Even the affordable Pixel 6a gets the same chip. But this year, Google is bringing the second-gen Tensor G2 SoC to the new Pixel phones. We don’t know much about its capabilities, but we are hoping that Google has made improvements to make it a logical successor to its maiden smartphone chip. Google could serve the phones with 8GB and 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

Display And The Notch

Apple has already shown us its tricks with the dynamic island, so can Google push the envelope further? From the initial teasers, it seems Google is going to play it safe, and offer the Pixel 7 phones with a punch hole cutout at the top. The regular Pixel 7 is expected to feature a 90Hz display, while Google bestows all the bells and whistles like the QHD+ 120Hz LTPO display on the Pixel 7 Pro to justify the higher price tag.

It’s All About The Cameras, Again

It is hard to finish any piece around the Pixels without talking about its cameras, and once again, Google is going to have everyone waiting to know its details. From the leaks we have come across, the Pixel 7 will have dual cameras, while the Pixel 7 Pro features a triple rear camera setup. It also suggests that the Pixel 7 Pro will carry a 48MP telephoto sensor, 50MP wide-angle sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. But the Pixel magic is all based on computational photography, so how the software is tweaked to give top-notch results, that’s what we are waiting to hear from the horse’s mouth later this week.

Other Specifications and Features

Google will have the Pixel 7 series protected with an IP68 rating like last year, offer wired and wireless charging support, and give dual biometric features once again. The build quality of the phones is likely to include a mix of glass and aluminium. And we expect Google Pixel 7 series to miss out on the charger in the box, which has become the norm, at least in the flagship circuit. The front 10.8MP camera should deliver wide selfies and let you take video calls with ease. And yes, Android 13 is going to be the main source of all the smartness on these devices.
