Halo Infinite is getting its next Drop Pod on August 9. Here are some of the new things coming to the game, including new multiplayer playlists.

343 Industries has announced that it will be releasing the next Drop Pod for Halo Infinite on August 9. The Drop Pod is set to focus primarily on the player experience on multiple fronts, including QoL improvements.

One of the new things in the next Drop Pod will be that visors will now work on all cores. This essentially means that every visor in the game right now, and every visor that will be added to the game down the line, will now work with every armor core.

Other new customisation updates include attachments for Mark VII helmets. Stemming from player requests to make Mark VII helmets more compatible, the studio is essentially working on expanding the line-up of helmet attachments to work with the Mark VII. To begin with, new attachments will already work with the Mark VII, and the studio is working with its art team to ensure problems like texture clipping don’t happen with more attachments.

On the multiplayer side of things, more ranked playlists are coming to Halo Infinite. The first new playlist, Ranked Doubles, will be launching two weeks after the Drop Pod’s release alongside a CSR reset. There will also be a social Team Doubles playlist.

If Ranked Doubles and Team Doubles end up being popular enough, 343 plans on keeping the two new playlists around for Halo Infinite‘s future, along with experimenting with more Ranked playlists.

New quality of life features in the upcoming Drop Pod include the ability to look at active challenges in the pause menu. It is worth noting that the list still won’t show players exact numbers for their active challenges, as challenges are typically updated after every match.

343 has also stated that it is currently working on giving players the Region Select option. The studio states that it is just laying the groundwork, and that Region Select still won’t be available for a while.
