MoreFun Studios, a subsidiary of the legendary Tencent Games, has revealed a look at their upcoming video game adaptation of the beloved martial arts webcomic/anime franchise Hitroi No Shita, titled Hitori No Shita: The Outcast. Featuring some gorgeous 3D visuals, a lovely art style similar to the anime aesthetics, and some super awesome-looking combat, this is one to watch out for.
We have got to talk even more about the visuals in The Outcast, because they are truly mind-blowing. The art style is anime in nature, yes, but it is gritty and grimy, with plenty of dust blowing up in every blow, the impact of said blows being felt beyond just a graphical level. Combined with some amazing-sounding audio, it’s almost flabbergasting that this is a mobile game.

Gameplay-wise, Hitori No Shita is no slouch, either. The trailer above shows off what you can expect, and it looks lovely. Styled somewhat like a fighting game, you’ll square off against opponents and utilise a couple of commands on your screen depending on what is needed. There are defensive options and offensive options, and you’ll have to utilise both to stay ahead of your opponent.
These fights, according to the trailer, are almost like a choreographed dance rather than an encounter. It’s flashy, stylish, and beautifully animated. As you dynamically react to your opponent’s moves, you’ll soon get into a rhythm that is sure to make you feel like a legendary anime protagonist.
On the story side of things, The Outcast seeks to implement elements of both the webcomic and the anime series as well, so expect a sort of retelling that puts you in the combat instead of watching it.
Currently, there’s no pre-order or pre-register available for Hitori No Shita: The Outcast, so stay tuned as more information is revealed.
