Lucid is one of the most exciting new automakers to hit the market in the last 10 years. Lucid started with a goal to offer the highest level of luxury and refinement with all-electric performance. After much fanfare, Lucid brought forth the new Lucid Air in late 2021. It immediately garnered high praise, winning 2022 Car of the Year from MotorTrend. The new Lucid Air is an outstanding new electric car with luxury rivaled by only a few models. With all of that refinement and confidence, it’s not surprising that the Lucid Air can cost a pretty penny. For the upcoming year, the new Lucid Air is receiving a price increase. Just how much will one of these sedans cost?

When is the price change taking effect?

If you are interested in a new Lucid Air, you will need to keep it in mind when the price changes go into effect. The price changes will go into effect on June 1, 2022. As long as you order a new Lucid Air before that date, you will be able to lock in the lower pricing. But, if you don’t get that new price locked in, you could be paying as much as 13% more than the past year.

Even with this impending price increase, Lucid continues to be one of the most impressive automakers, outselling rivals such as Telsa and Porsche!

2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance | Lucid

The Lucid Air is one of the most impressive new electric cars available today. The stylish and sleek exterior and the refined and luxurious interior all make this sedan a great choice. The big question is, will this price change affect every model? The easy answer is no, but that requires a bit more explanation. The only trim that will not receive a price increase is the fully-loaded Air Grand Touring Performance. The model is sticking right at the $179,000 price point. The other models in the line-up are going to increase in price. The increases are:

  • Air Pure: New Price $87,400, Old Price $77,400
  • Air Touring: New Price $107,400, Old Price $95,000
  • Air Grand Touring: New Price $154,000, Old Price $139,000

The price changes follow the same pattern for drivers in Canada who are considering a new Lucid Air. The Air Grand Touring Performance model will be sticking at $242,000 CAD. The subsequent models increase in price as well. The price increases are:

  • Air Pure: New Price $119,000 CAD, Old Price $105,000 CAD
  • Air Touring: New Price $146,000 CAD, Old Price $129,000 CAD
  • Air Grand Touring: New Price $210,000 CAD, Old Price $189,000 CAD

Is the price increase worth it?

Interior of a New 2022 Lucid Air | Lucid

With any price increase, there is undoubtedly going to be some backlash. Shoppers may be put off from considering the model that undergoes the price change, but with the Lucid Air, drivers can still get ultimate luxury and performance. This all-electric sedan is priced comparably to many other luxury sedans even with the price increase.

The new Lucid Air is ready to be one of the most impressive and unique new luxury sedans that a driver should consider. Of course, when you think of one of these models, you will particularly love that the new Lucid Air is a seemingly perfect blend of performance and luxury. Firstly, the interior can be outfitted in plush, full-grain leather and natural wood, an advanced audio system with Dolby Atmos capabilities, and a full suite of driver assistance technology.

What impresses shoppers about the new Lucid Air is the remarkable performance that this sedan can offer. This is one of the most incredible electric models on the market. When an electric model offers this much power, between 480 horsepower and 1,111 horsepower, drivers wouldn’t expect too much range. But, with this sedan, drivers can enjoy anywhere from 406 miles of range up to 520 miles of range! That is market shifting efficiency, and it may be a while until another automaker can match this power and efficiency.

This price increase could certainly be worth it!

As stated before, these price changes will not go into effect until June 1st, 2022. At the time of writing, this gives shoppers just under a month to configure their dream new Lucid Air and put in an order.

If you are hunting for a luxurious and performance-focused electric car, order a new Lucid Air before the price increase, or wait until after if you don’t mind spending a little extra. At that price, what’s a little extra anyway?
