iPhones have been known for including noise-canceling features during calls for over a decade. However, this long-standing feature has been abruptly removed with the release of the iPhone 13 series. No reason has been given and no mention for this feature removal has been made by the company. Users started to notice the lack of this feature and issued questions to Apple Support. Today, it has officially confirmed that the entire iPhone 13 series lacks call noise cancellation.
A report from 9to5Mac details the accessibility feature that reduces ambient noise on phone calls when you are holding the receiver to your ear is no longer present on the iPhone 13 series. It’s curious to see a feature like that one being removed in the recent iPhone. After all, new products are known for improving the features. However, the iPhone 13 series is lacking features that were useful. As we mentioned before, there is no further explanation as to why the feature is removed.
“We have an update on this. Phone Noise Cancellation is not available on iPhone 13 models, which is why you do not see this option in Settings.”
If you want to have something close to noise-canceling on your iPhone 13 series device, your only way is to grab and use headphones that come with built-in noise cancellation. That’s quite intriguing to see this feature absent on the iPhone 13 series. After all, the latest devices have the hardware in the form of a multi-microphone system. If users complain and make enough buzz, maybe Apple will reconsider the change and add noise canceling. After all, if the necessary hardware is there, why prevent users from having access to a feature that was part of the iPhone legacy? Worth noting that Apple does not seem to see this as a problem. So as we said before unless those users start to issue multiple complaints, no changes will be made and the feature will not return.
For now, it’s unclear but we really doubt that feature will return with the iPhone 14 series. We can’t see what Apple is planning with this, but if it’s gone with the iPhone 13 series then we don’t see if returning with the iPhone 14 series. Apparently, a new standard is being built by the company under the wraps.
