And over 800 horsepower.

Few manufacturers build better rear-wheel-drive sports cars than BMW. The company's famed M division has produced some of the most legendary sports cars of the last three decades, and modern offerings such as the M2 Coupe and M5 CS prove that BMW has not lost its magic. But what if you're after an M car with even more? The aftermarket has been able to extract massive performance out of these cars, and it's not too difficult to reach outputs of over 1,000 horsepower from the inline-six and V8 engines in these cars, but engine swaps are also a popular choice. Tuning company Filippo Speed Shop has taken things to the extreme with this M2 Competition that now houses a 6.2-liter HEMI V8.

These guys have thrown out the excellent S55 twin-turbo inline-six engine and replaced it with a 6.2-liter Hemi of SRT Hellcat heritage. This engine was never meant to fit within the confines of the M2's engine bay, so Filippo Speed Shop had to use some serious lube. The engine is mounted to the original strut mounts, but spacers were used to get the engine in the right position. The original 53:47 weight distribution has surely been tipped in favor of the nose, but who needs a balanced car when your power outputs have jumped from 405 hp and 406 lb-ft to over 800 hp? Power is sent to the rear wheels via a sequential transmission.

With all the newfound power, something had to be done to improve the braking performance, so in went a custom set of six-piston front, and four-piston rear Stoptech brake calipers. The car now rolls on a set of forged 18-inch wheels and has a four-way adjustable coil-over suspension. The front vented carbon fiber fenders let you know that something's not quite right with this M2. This car won't make a great daily driver, as the interior has been completely stripped out, and the noise-canceling glass windows have been replaced for Lexan pieces. This track-ready weapon will compete in the Battle of the Builders (BOTB) competition at this year's SEMA show which starts on November 2.
