What to Consider
Vacuums that are good for removing pet hair usually come with a special attachment, and so performance depends on how well it works. Powerful suction is important, but you’ll also want a tool that won’t get clogged from tangled fur. For allergy sufferers, it’s essential to have a vacuum with an excellent filtration system, so look for models with a HEPA filter or those that are specially designed to trap dander and other small particles without re-expelling them into the air. Beyond that, finding the right vacuum depends on personal preference—canister, upright, stick, handheld, or robot—and if you're willing to deal with a cord.
