Geneva announces head of risk and assurance post has been filled by someone with more than two decades of banking and financial experience.

Geneva Finance has appointed Aaron Underdown to the newly created role of head of risk and assurance at the company.
Underdown, who was previously head of credit inspection at the Bank of South Pacific, has more than 20 years of experience working in banking and financial services, including a range of executive, credit and operational risk roles in New Zealand and overseas.
Geneva says the focus of his new job will be on regulatory and statutory compliance as well as managing and overseeing the development and strengthening of the internal audit function.
His appointment was announced in a statement to the NZX on December 5. It adds that Underdown is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and is a “passionate advocate in uplifting risk management capability in organisations while building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders”.
Underdown’s other past jobs include being head of asset management at Heartland Bank, acting managing director and chief risk officer at the National Development Bank in Papua New Guinea and spending more than 14 years with ANZ.
