nissan indian announces 100 winners from its magnite valentine program

The Magnite was definitively the ultimate attempt by Nissan to make a stand in the Indian market. The last hurrah, if you will. And boy, has that gamble paid off big time! Within just 30 days of its launch, the Magnite attracted 32,800 bookings from interested buyers all over India. That is quite an unprecedented number of bookings for a brand-new car from a company that floundered the last time. It soon became clear that Nissan has done its homework well this time and that it has no idea of relenting anytime soon. The Japanese automaker went one step further when it introduced its Valentines program in February, meant specifically for Magnite customers.

According to Nissan, every Magnite customer awaiting delivery (from February 12 onwards) is eligible for this program. Furthermore, the automaker said that the lucky draw will be held every 30 days, for the next three months. Under this draw, 100 customers will be picked randomly every month. Nissan India’s Valentine program will conclude with one lucky winner driving off with a brand-new Magnite for free, i.e., 100 percent cashback of the car’s ex-showroom price. Meanwhile, the next 8 winners will have their Magnite upgraded to a higher variant at no extra cost. The next 25 winners of the draw will get a one-year extended warranty for free, whilst the remaining 66 customers will get a two-year/20,000 km maintenance package for free.

Meanwhile, the 8 customers who won the free variant upgrade were Prem Singh, Raman, Ganesh, Basant Kumar, Gokulnath, Mohsin, Ahmed, and Manda. As for the rest of the winners of the Magnite Valentine Program’s first draw, their names and respective rewards are listed on Nissan India’s official website.

The Nissan Magnite is priced between Rs 5.49 Lakh and Rs 9.59 Lakh for the entry-level and range-topping variants, respectively. Built on the CMF-A+ platform (like the Renault Kiger), the Nissan Magnite is available in four trim levels, two engines, and two gearbox options. In its naturally-aspirated avatar, the Magnite’s 1.0-liter three-popper produces 71hp and 96Nm, with the Turbo version making 98hp and 160Nm. Meanwhile, the Nissan Magnite’s gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and an X-tronic CVT – the latter only available in the Turbo variant. The Magnite’s features list includes a JBL audio system, an 8-inch touch-infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, push-button start, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and wireless charging.

On the safety front, Nissan has equipped the Magnite with most of the basic features for a modern affordable car. The subcompact SUV gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors as standard. However, higher trims also come with Vehicle Dynamics Control, Traction Control System, and Hill Start Assist. Nissan had recently confirmed that the made-in-India Magnite has the same 4-star ASEAN safety rating as the export model. At the higher end, the Nissan Magnite also goes up against the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Ford EcoSport, and Tata Nexon.
