It might not be all-change for the new Nissan Pathfinder but there are some major improvements across the board.
The base ST is two-wheel drive only and is much more expensive than the old model (by about $10k), but the addition of a bucketload of new safety and onboard tech more than makes up for it. The ST starts from $54,190 before on-road costs.
Standard gear includes 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and start, three-zone air con, heated front seats, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a 10.8-inch head-up display, 9.0-inch multimedia touchscreen, digital radio and a six-speaker audio system.
Safety wise the ST-L builds on the ST’s list that includes auto emergency braking (AEB) with junction, pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear AEB, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot warning, a driver alert, traffic sign recognition and trailer sway control, with the ProPilot semi-autonomous system.
All Pathfinders come with a revised version of the carryover 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine pumping out 202kW/340Nm and it’s matched with a new nine-speed automatic transmission that replaces the CVT. The hybrid from the previous model has been dropped globally.
