OnePlus is gearing up to introduce its OnePlus 11 flagship very soon. The device will launch in China soon, but its global variant will have to wait until February. In addition to the OnePlus 11, we also expect the brand to introduce new compelling phones for the 2023 season. The OnePlus Ace 2 will be a new addition to the Ace lineup. To those unaware, OnePlus “borrowed” the Ace series from Oppo, and introduced the OnePlus Ace, Ace Racing Edition, and Ace Pro. Now, the brand prepares for the launch of Ace 2.

OnePlus Ace 2 key specs

According to a tipster from Weibo, the OnePlus Ace 2 will be an interesting device with excellent specs. First of all, it will sport the mighty Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Yes, one more device will bring this chipset in 2023. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will be the new “Snapdragon 870” for phones in the entry-flagship class. Besides the powerful SoC, the phone also brings a curved OLED screen. This panel is said to sport a 1,5K resolution. That means that the phone’s display will bring a 1500p display, we bet on something in the 2,880 x 1,500 pixels territory. The OnePlus Ace 2 will likely bring up to a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The OnePlus Ace will also get the same 100W fast charging coming with the OnePlus 11. It will be paired with a big 5,000 mAh battery. The tipster also confirms the phone with a 50 MP main camera. Considering the specs, the OnePlus Ace 2 seems to be the Chinese version of the OnePlus 11R.

Back the last year, OnePlus launched the OnePlus Ace in China. The device was launched elsewhere as the OnePlus 10R. Similarly, we expect the Ace 2 and the 11R to get the same treatment. Interestingly, the alert slider seems to be making a comeback. Both the OnePlus 11R and the OnePlus Ace 2 may bring the alert slider.

The OnePlus 11R is also rumored to come with an IR Blaster. That will be a first for the OnePlus smartphone, so we also expect it on the OnePlus Ace 2. Moreover, the phone will bring a centered punch-hole cutout, sticking with the last year’s design language.

The OnePlus 11 will debut on January 4 in China. We expect more details about the OnePlus Ace 2 to appear in due time.
