The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is all set to launch in India later this week, alongside the OnePlus 10R mid-premium range smartphone. The Nord CE 2 Lite will be positioned just below the standard Nord CE, and its overall design appears to be inspired by the Realme 9 Pro Plus. The device is a part of efforts being made by BBK Electronics, the parent company behind OnePlus, to expand the range of products in the OnePlus portfolio and widen what’s offered by the brand. The smartphone from OnePlus is said to feature some interesting specifications, including Snapdragon 695 processor, 90Hz display, 5,000mAh battery, and more. If that interests you, here’s what you need to know about it.

By now, plenty of details about the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite smartphone has been tipped, which gives us a fairly strong idea in terms of what to expect from the device. It is slated to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 SoC, with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage at hand. Other key details include a 6.58-inch display with a drill-hole front camera notch, full HD+ screen resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. All of this will also be combined with Android 12 out of the box, with OxygenOS 12 offering customisations to the OnePlus Android experience in India.

Large battery

The Nord CE 2 Lite is also expected to come with a large battery, with the company having confirmed already that the device would feature a 5,000mAh battery. This is slated to be combined with 33W fast charging. In comparison, the OnePlus 10R set to be unveiled on the same day will reportedly get two variants – one with a 4,500mAh battery and 150W SuperVOOC charging, and the other with a 5,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging.

64MP main camera

The device is also expected to get a triple rear camera, headed by a 64MP primary camera. Exact details about this are yet to be revealed, but it is unlikely that the Nord CE 2 Lite would get Hasselblad credentials. Two 2MP camera units are also expected to be accompanied by the 64MP main camera. To the front, there could be a 16MP unit for selfies.

No alert slider

While this is not exactly a feature per se, it’s important to note that the Nord CE 2 Lite is almost certain to not get the OnePlus alert slider. The latter has been an ever-present feature in OnePlus’ phones, and alongside its nifty utility, has also become a differentiating identifier for the brand in a world of uniform smartphone designs. It’s not clear if this is due to the BBK group optimising costs with more uniform phone designs across its brands (that include Vivo, Oppo, Realme and Iqoo), but fans of the brand will miss it for sure. The fingerprint sensor on the Nord CE 2 Lite is also tipped to be integrated into the power button on the side.
