Some pickup trucks offer roadside assistance. While driving on a road, a truck might have a mechanical malfunction, a flat tire, or some other issue. A service agent then comes to address the problem and, if needed, tow the vehicle to a service center. However, what about if you drive out into the wilderness, far off-road, and run into problems? Only one pickup truck addresses this issue: the all-electric Rivian R1T, with its Off-Roadside Assistance plan.

What is the Rivian Off-Roadside Assistance plan for the R1T pickup truck?

The Rivian Off-Road Assistance plan is included in the new vehicle warranty coverage for the all-electric R1T pickup truck and the R1S SUV. It’s also one of the many benefits of the Rivian Membership program. The Rivian Off-Road Assistance plan features two primary components: Adventure Extraction and Charge Assurance.

  • Adventure Extraction: If you’re stranded in the wilderness, whether it’s from getting stuck, submerged in water, or unable to travel further, the Adventure Extraction service will send a recovery vehicle to extract a Rivian R1T truck or R1S SUV.
  • Charge Assurance: If your vehicle runs out of battery power, then Charge Assurance will provide 24/7 towing services to either your home or a nearby charging station, whichever is closest.

Reasons why Rivian Off-Roadside Assistance is such a good benefit

More than any other automaker, Rivian caters to outdoor adventurers and enthusiasts — and the Off-Roadside Assistance plan is reflective of this. If you drive with the R1T pickup truck into the wilderness, you can have the peace of mind that Rivian will help you out if you run into trouble. If you get stuck, then the Adventure Extraction service will get your vehicle moving again.

For even more peace of mind, Rivian provides Charge Assurance. One of the biggest concerns for electric vehicles is “range anxiety,” or the fear of running out of battery power before you can drive back home or to a charging station to charge your vehicle. Some other automakers offer charging services if your EV runs out of battery power on a road. However, Rivian is unique among other EVs, including electric pickup trucks, in that it is the only one that provides charging services for when your vehicle is off-road, far out into the wilderness.

Off-road capabilities of the Rivian R1T electric pickup truck

Along with the Off-Roadside Assistance plan, the Rivan R1T boasts impressive off-road capabilities. With its powerful quad-motor all-wheel drive system, the electric pickup truck provides smooth torque delivery to each wheel as needed for optimal traction.

The R1T also features an adaptive air suspension that enables you to raise and lower the height of the truck. For extreme off-road use, you can raise the R1T to a ground clearance of 14.9 inches. Also, for greater ease in loading your gear, the truck can be lowered to 7.9 inches.

Furthermore, the R1T has many useful utility features for aiding off-road adventures. This includes a gear tunnel, which is a unique storage compartment that runs the width of the pickup truck. Additional helpful utility features include a slide-out camp kitchen, a built-in flashlight, and a storage “frunk.”

The Off-Roadside Assistance plan for the Rivian R1T electric pickup truck is a great service to have for people that like to drive off-road for wilderness adventures. With the Adventure Extraction and Charge Assurance, you can have the peace of mind that Rivian will be there for you if you run into trouble while you’re far off the beaten path.
