The Great Wall Motor’s (GWM) Ora Good Cat drove home with the Carlist.my Editors’ Choice Awards – Car of the Year for the “Most Anticipated Newcomer of the Year” at the award presentation held recently, pipping a number of other electric vehicles to take top honours in the category.
“We are proud of the recognition from Carlist.my for awarding the Ora Good Cat as the ‘Most Anticipated Newcomer of the Year’. This means a lot to us considering the model is the first electric vehicle we have introduced into the Malaysian market. This award motivates us to deliver better and greater solutions for Malaysians,” said Daniel Lai, GWM Malaysia Head of Brand & Communication.

“This is one of the most exciting awards in the automotive industry and we are honoured that Ora Good Cat is being recognised for its excellent design, battery capacity, premium interior and advanced technology,” he added.
GWM’s plans are focused on providing their customers with top-notch customer service through the implementation of 24-hour roadside assistance by our appointed panel insurance company and a spare parts warehouse which has been established in Shah Alam.
The carmaker is aiming to open 15 unified and multiform stores by the end of 2023 with the majority of those comprising 3S centres.

Among the highlights of the Ora Good Cat include its L2-level driving assistance functions, integrating functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), lane keeping assistance and 360-degree surround camera. The electric vehicle is also equipped with an autonomous emergency braking.
Furthermore, the Ora Good Cat has been designed with GWM’s pure electric architecture under the L.E.M.O.N. platform; which stands for lightweight, electrification, multipurpose, Omni-protection and network. It comes with five driving modes ranging from Normal, Sport, Eco, Eco+ and Auto.

The EV is sold at a commendable price starting from RM139,800 for the 400 Pro and RM169,800 for the 500 Ultra, making it one of the most affordable EVs in Malaysia.
Part of the purchase includes the feline-themed 4-in-1 Purr-fect package with a portable and home charger, a 5-year/150,000 km warranty, an 8- year/180,000 km battery warranty and 5 free scheduled maintenance servicing.

“We are confident with the potential from Malaysia, and that is why we have also announced the “9 in 3” xEV Product Strategy at the recent media launch event of the Ora Good Cat, in which GWM will introduce 9 models, which covers Sedan, SUV, Pickup and other categories, to bring in new energy, new intelligence and new driving experience to the Malaysian consumers,” said GWM ASEAN president Elliot Zhang.
Customers can now view and test-drive the Ora Good Cat at GWM’s designated authorised dealers in Glenmarie, Puchong, and Penang.
