persona 3 portable: junpei (magician) social link choices guide

For the female lead character available in Persona 3 Portable, your Magician Arcana Persona fusion abilities will be determined by your Junpei Iori social link, a closer relationship between you and your fellow SEES member than players can fuse in the male path through the story.

Junpei’s storyline stops short of being a romance for reasons that'll become clear, but heading through the ranks of his social link reveals additional layers to his character and also naturally allows you to get greater EXP bonuses when fusing Magician Arcana Persona – as well as unlocking Surt, the ultimate Magician Persona in this game. This guide will help you to reach max rank to see the full story and get all of the bonuses.

Junpei Iori S-Link Guide – Magician

persona 3 portable: junpei (magician) social link choices guide

The female protagonist will automatically begin the Junpei Social Link without any prompting – it’ll just happen in late April as the story progresses. From that point, you’ll be able to find Junpei in your classroom at Gekkoukan High School on certain days of the week.

In Persona 3, your S-Link ranks are governed by a hidden experience stat for each friend you have. This stat gradually rises each time you hang out, but by saying and doing the right thing you can get bonus EXP that levels the relationship up faster. This guide lists all responses that offer such bonuses, allowing you to min-max relationships and see the full story more quickly and efficiently.

Any choices not listed in this guide don’t carry bonuses, which means you can respond however you want. The point totals shown in this guide include the Arcana extra, which is achieved by having a matching Persona – in Junpei’s case of the Magician Arcana – in your party whenever you spend time with Junpei.

  • After establishing the Junpei social link, you’ll be able to invite Junpei to hang out on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday daytimes from inside Classroom 1F of school

Unlock & Rank 1:

First off, it's important to note that the Junpei Social Link is exclusive to the female protagonist, and therefore is exclusive to Persona 3 Portable. The social link storyline will kick off automatically in mid-April as the story progresses. The male protagonist instead has the Kenji social link as its Magician rep.
