National Day songs are a tradition that you can count on every year. The annual celebrations often feature a mix of new songs, as well as big names performing iconic classics.
And this year, you can add local DJ MYRNE and the Porsche Taycan to that prestigious list. To mark Singapore’s 57th birthday, the collaboration sees the marriage of man and machine to recreate a National Day classic – ‘Home’ – using the sounds from Porsche’s flagship EV.
This has been achieved by sampling the natural tones and sounds from a Porsche – from doors ‘thudding’ shut to seatbelts ‘winding’, and the soft hum of the electric motor turning into an electrifying crescendo on sporty acceleration – MYRNE created a modern take on the 2001 classic.
Porsche will release the complete music video of the soundtrack in due course, and we’ll update the article to reflect it!
