Apple has issued the third beta version of iOS 16, macOS Ventura, and iPadOS 16. As usual, the public beta build is the same as the developer beta build released recently.

iOS 16 features a customizable lock screen with widgets for iPhone, some new Focus mode features including different lock screens for different focus modes, new Mail app features like improved search and the ability to schedule and unsend emails, then ability to edit iMessages, some new iCloud Photos Library features, and many other small changes.

iPadOS 16 features Stage Manager, which is a new multitasking interface available to M1 equipped iPad users. iPadOS 16 also includes most features from iOS 16, minus the ability to customize the lock screen.

macOS Ventura includes Stage Manager with different multitasking approaches, a way to use iPhone as a webcam with Continuity Camera, improved search features in Mail app, scheduling emails in Mail app, the ability to edit sent iMessages, Weather app for Mac, Clock app for Mac, a redesigned System Preferences now called System Settings, and more.

iOS and iPadOS users participating in the public beta program will find the new iOS 16 beta and iPadOS 16 beta in the Settings app > General > Software Update.

macOS Ventura beta users in the public beta program will find the latest beta build in  Apple menu > System Settings > Software Update.

While betas are intended for advanced users, anyone can technically install the public beta onto a compatible device. If you’re interested in doing so, check out how to install iOS 16 public beta on iPhone, install iPadOS 16 public beta on iPad, and read about installing macOS Ventura public beta on Mac. As always, backup a device before installing any beta version.

The final versions of macOS Ventura, iOS 16, and iPadOS 16 will be available to all users this fall.
