South Korea-based equipment maker QMC has unveiled MDT-400P equipment for transferring miniLED chips, according to South Korea-based ET News.
MDT-400P can reach transfer precision of about 10 microns and tact (production) time of 0.12 second per miniLED chip, better than industry averages of 15 microns and 0.14 second respectively, the report said. It means the equipment can help produce RGB miniLED fine-pitch displays of higher quality in a shorter time. MDT-400P is equipped with functions of automatic replacement of QMC-developed consumable materials and automatic calibration.
QMC is in talks with South Korea-based makers of miniLED-backlit LCD TVs for orders for MDT-400P, said the report.
According to Japan-based Yano Research Institute, global demand for miniLED equipment will increase from 5.31 million units in 2022 to 14.35 million units in 2025.
