renault hyderabad sets a record by delivering 100 kiger suvs to customers in just one day!

Hot on the heels of the Nissan Magnite, French automaker Renault launched the Kiger in India on February 15. The subcompact SUV was introduced with a price tag starting from just Rs 5.45 Lakh (ex-showroom, India) – making it the most affordable new car in its segment. India is land-friendly to SUVs (including wannabe ones, too), and thus the success of cars like the Renault Kiger is almost set in stone. Proof of the pudding, in this case, comes from the number of bookings dealerships have been receiving for the Kiger.

Since setting records is considered pretty cool and PR-friendly, dealerships would love to get in on the action as well. Therefore, in a record-setting move, PPS Renault in Hyderabad decided that it will dispatch 100 Kigers in just one day! Even more impressive, they actually managed to do it. As you can tell from the pictures, PPS Renault drove 100 brand-new units of the Kiger from a delivery yard to the showroom for final delivery to customers. Well, there must have been some confusion between customers regarding which car belongs to whom, eh? The Renault Kiger is available in four variants: RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ.

Apart from the Nissan Magnite, the Kiger also faces stiff competition from the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Ford EcoSport. However, all those cars (save for the Magnite) are far pricier than the Kiger. So, if you are someone looking at hatchbacks and compact sedans, the Renault Kiger would seem like a fair deal. After all, attractive pricing and SUV-like styling are the key strengths to which this car plays to. Depending on the variant you choose, the Kiger will get 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels along with tri-beam LED headlamps. The Kiger also gets a roof spoiler, black body cladding, signature LED DRLs, pronounced wheel arches, and a faux rear skid plate.

The Renault Kiger’s safety equipment includes ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, and ISOFIX anchor points. Meanwhile, there is also cruise control, automatic climate control, a wireless charger, ambient lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and an 8-inch touch-infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. As for the Kiger’s boot capacity, that stands at 405 liters. Tipping in at around the ton-mark, the Renault Kiger isn’t exactly the heaviest car in the world. Therefore, it makes sense that it comes with just a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine but in two different varieties.

The least happy of the lot is the naturally-aspirated motor that only makes 71hp and 96Nm of torque. Renault offers this version of the Kiger with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT. Meanwhile, the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine seems like a better choice as it produces 98hp and 160Nm of torque. Transmission choices for this one comes in the form of a 5-speed manual or a smooth CVT. Customers will get to choose between several accessory packages as well for the Renault Kiger, which obviously won’t be free.
