Hyper Front was released earlier this year. It got instantly popular thanks to its high similarities with Valorant. For those unaware, Valorant is one of the most trending FPS games. The resemblance between NetEase’s Hyper Front and Valorant is uncanny. You may call Hyper Front a “carbon copy” of Valorant. Hence, this got Riot Games, the developer of Valorant angry. Apparently, Riot Games has filed multiple cases against NetEase for copying their game.
Riot Games VS NetEase: Who will win? 
According to the complaints, Hyper Front has cloned the features of Valorant but also copies gameplay elements. Even the characters of Hyper Front look like the agents from Valorant. Now, why Riot Games suddenly remembered this issue while Hyper Front has been here for already some time now?
Well, the first reason could be the release of Valorant Mobile which is just around the corner. Riot Games don’t want to take the risk of people choosing Hyper Front over their creation, and secondly, this news has brought Valorant Mobile to the news creating hype for the upcoming game.
Riot Games has issued a 162-page legal document, where they pointed out several similarities between the two titles. To make things even more clear, Riot Games’ Lawyer Dan Nabel has also issued his statements Polygon:
All of our creative choices are mirrored in NetEase’s game. We don’t think that changing the color of a character ability or slightly modifying the visual appearance changes the fact that it’s copyright infringement. It’s like that old saying, ‘You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.”
The cases filed by Riot Games can surely give a hard time to NetEase. It can take a bad turn, and result in the shutting down of Hyper Front.
