Roblox has removed the iconic ‘oof’ sound. The iconic sound was also a popular meme. The ‘oof’ sound was generated whenever a player died in Roblox. Not only the sound is popular among the Roblox players but other people as well. Unfortunately, the developers have removed this sound and added a replacement instead. So why did Roblox developers take this step and removed their iconic found?

Roblox explains why the iconic sound effect was removed

Related to sounds, due to a licensing issue we have removed the “oof” sound from Roblox and have created a replacement default sound which launches today.
We plan to expand our Avatar Shop with a whole range of both old and new sounds in the future. More to come on this.

Well, it turns out to be related to licensing issues. Roblox developers have confirmed that the ‘oof’ sound was removed due to some licensing issues with the sound effect. The announcement was in-game and stated the end of the iconic sound. Now, it has been removed by a new default sound. Obviously, it doesn’t give us the same vibes as the iconic sound used to give. It is not confirmed if the new sound is here for good, or if we will see the iconic sound returning sometime in the future.

games, news

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Robox is facing issues with the “oof” sound. The iconic sound is not created by Roblox, rather it was taken from a former video game composer named Tommy Tallarico. Earlier, it was said that Tallarico is working together with Roblox, and he will even be developing other paid sounds for Roblox. However, after the removal of the “oof” sound from the game, it seems like the deal took a bad turn,

Obviously, the players will miss the iconic sound effect. The game surely loses its originality with these small but meaningful features. However, we have high hopes for Roblox to make even better sound effects in the future.
