The Super Mario range for LEGO has been coming on leaps and bounds over the past couple of years, with sets bringing in characters and items from classic Super Mario titles and Luigi’s Mansion, alongside a brand new Peach’s Castle expansion set to launch in August 2022.
If an online listing is to be believed, however, it seems a new 18+ Super Mario set is on its way. No details have been gleaned on what the set might entail, but after initial discovery of the listing a couple of months back, we do at least have a decent view on how much it will cost and how many LEGO pieces will be included.
At €229.99 with a total of 2807 pieces, the new product is set to be bigger than both the Nintendo Entertainment System set (2,064 pieces) and the Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block set (2646 pieces). What the new set will actually include is anyone’s guess, however; perhaps a recreation of World 1-1 from Super Mario Bros.? Maybe a Super Nintendo Entertainment System set? Who knows!
A release date is currently set for October 1st, 2022, however it’s entirely possible that this could be a placeholder date for the time being. If (or rather when) Nintendo and LEGO announce this new set, we’ll be sure to update you on its firm release date.
