Bethesda has announced that both Starfield and Redfall have been delayed until the first half of 2023. The sci-fi RPG from Bethesda Game Studios had been on track for a November 2022 launch, while the latter game, a co-op vampire affair from Dishonored developer Arkane Studios, was tentatively slated for ‘summer 2022’.

Both games will now be coming next year. “The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them,” Bethesda explained in a tweet.

“Deep dive” gameplay for Redfall and Starfield is promised to arrive “soon”, which presumably means that both games could make an appearance during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase on 12th June. Fingers crossed for something, anything, about The Elder Scrolls VI, too, please.

Who could’ve seen that coming?.. Everyone, everyone one did… Starfield yo be expected but Redfall I was very hopeful Starfield will be 2024 at earliest As expected (Starfield). They simply could release it as it was plamed. Doesn’t matter because all Bethesda games are heavily bugged at release and need to be patched by the nodding community first. So why wait longer? @5 Here is to hoping they release it as a singleplayer game and not a live service like 76. No mods if that wayThis is looking like it’ll be a pretty empty year for Xbox exclusive titles, as I don’t see Hellblade 2 happening this year. Maybe Forza Motorsport? My guess is they’re gonna have to aggressively pursue some big third party titles for Gamepass without having big first party titles for the subscription.
