Released in 2015 by Tencent Games, Honor of Kings continues to stay on top when it comes to the highest mobile-grossing gaming titles on the mobile platform. The hit-mobile game from china has generated around $5.5 Billion in the past two years (from Sep 2020 – Sep 2022), as per the data acquired by Sensor Tower. Honor of Kings was released on 26 November 2015 for both Android and iOS platforms. It is followed by PUBG Mobile with nearly $4.9 Billion in revenue in the past two years.
The world of video gaming is vast, encompassing everything from mobile gaming to PC and console gaming. Over the last few years, there has been a rise in mobile game downloads and usage among both children and adults, which has led to a rise in mobile gaming revenue. The main spotlight of Honor of Kings is that it is exclusively available for Mainland China since 2015, but is expected to release globally soon. However, the game is also playable in Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The data shown above in which the revenue is mentioned does not include third-party Android stores in China.
In fourth place, we have Roblox which has collected more than $2.5 billion after Genshin Impact. Candy Crush Saga, a free-to-play tile-matching video game, becomes the fifth mobile game on the list of the highest-grossing games worldwide with $2.3 billion.
Several games like Garena Free Fire, Call of Duty and others have not made it to the top five which generates massive amounts of revenue via player spending.
