Ever since earphones, especially AirPods, became trendy, many individuals tend to forget that they should lower the sound whenever they are listening to music.

They became so accustomed to the loud music audio that it feels like they’re already immune to the high decibel levels.

Now, videos claiming that high decibels can make people deaf at the age of 60 are going viral.

Although these TikTokers are not really medical experts, there are various researchers that already warned about the negative effects of too loud sounds.

This iPhone Headphone Can Prevent Harmful Audio Levels

The Independent UK reported that iPhone has headphone settings that can inform users if the sounds that they are listening to have already reached the harmful decibel level.

The “Headphone Notifications” tool is a feature of the iOS smartphone that is turned on by default. This means that users no longer need to activate it manually.

Apple specifically designed this feature to measure the audio levels and provide warnings to users if their sounds are already too high.

You can double-check the “Headphone Notifications” by searching the tool’s name on your iPhone Settings app. However, there are some instances when this function is affected by the sounds made by your surrounding.

Effects of Loud Sound

Health Harvard reported that the safe audio level is lower than 85 dB. Decibels higher than that can already cause ear damage if exposed for more than two hours.

Now, if you are listening to music louder than 85 dB, there will certainly be negative effects. Experts explained that the inner ear is quite sensitive to sound.

This means that your ear cells can have permanent damage if you continue listening to very high audio levels.

In other stories, the iPhone battery percentage icon returns, thanks to the arrival of iOS 16 Beta.

Meanwhile, some critics claimed that the iPhone Mini model can be gone for good.
