warner bros., warner bros. interactive, multiversus, multiversus indefinite delay, is multiversus delayed indefinitely?, rick and morty

We may not be getting an official launch of Warner Bros. Interactive’s Multiversus anytime soon.

Warner Bros. Interactive recently announced it has decided to delay the release of Multiversus to a later date, per the game’s official Twitter page.

The delay has also affected the release of the game’s next character Morty, which was supposed to be made playable by the game’s supposed official launch.

Multiversus Indefinite Delay Details

Warner Bros. Interactive mentioned in the official Multiversus Twitter account it is delaying the start of the game’s first season and Morty’s release to a later date.

Although the company didn’t mention the reason why it did assure the game’s community that it is dedicated to delivering “new and exciting content that delights players.”

The company also said that it would let the community know when the game will be officially launched as soon as it can and that their patience and enthusiasm for the game’s first season are appreciated.

The reason for the delay might be due to its 15-tier battle pass with a set of challenges, which PC Gamer called “mediocre.”

The gaming publication then wrote that Multiversus’ delay was a better move to improve its battle pass challenges than letting it be at it is now, as in the case of Halo Infinite.

Unfortunately, Warner Bros. Interactive didn’t mention an ETA for the game’s launch, effectively placing the game’s first season and official launch on an indefinite delay.

You may remember that Warner Bros. Interactive scheduled the game’s official launch and the start of its first season on August 9, which is less than a week away at the time of this article’s publication, per PCGamesN.

Video Games Chronicle mentioned that the delay seems to have done nothing to change the order in which Multiversus’ characters are released as Morty is still scheduled for release on the game’s launch, with his grandfather, Rick, following suit.

What To Do Now?

Although the delay has disappointed some of the game’s players, it also presents a unique opportunity for them. Players who have yet to finish their battle pass will be able to do so as Warner Bros. Interactive extended the game’s Pre-Season battle pass until August 15.

The company also advises players that the end date noted in the game will not change despite the granted extension.

Furthermore, players now have the opportunity to try out every available character the game has to offer.

Additionally, players can also try playing the game using a GameCube controller, as PCGamesN demonstrated in another article to make it feel more like Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros.

Hunting for easter eggs, references, and unique dialogue is also worth spending the time until the game is released.

Warner Bros. Interactive’s Multiversus is free-to-play and has taken the world by storm since its open beta test started. In fact, its player count has surpassed those of Warframe and Destiny 2 with its 144,456 concurrent players on Steam along.
