Following a Logitech Astro A30 gaming headset ad released last week, in which a white Xbox Series X was spied in the background, Microsoft has offered a response to speculation that this meant a white version of the console might be in production.

“The white Xbox Series X console for the promotional video by our partner is not in production,” a Microsoft spokesperson told VGC. “We have no plans to release the Xbox Series X console in white at this time.” That’s that, then.

To date, only the black Xbox Series X has been available for widespread purchase, with other designs available only as special limited editions or promotional competition prizes. While you can make your console white with a skin, an actual, proper white Xbox Series X is currently unavailable.

Perhaps, with the arrival of the white Xbox Elite Controller Series 2, a white Xbox Series X might one day follow.
