The Zagg Rugged Pro Connect keyboard and case for iPad can take what life dishes out. It has 2 meters of drop protection, it is water resistant, the keys won’t pop off, and there’s a snap-on screen protector.

The case fits multiple generations of the 10.2-inch budget iPad, and is available starting Tuesday.

Zagg Rugged Pro Connect might be right iPad case for your little scholar

Children are back in school, many using an iPad. Life can be tough for these tablets, and a protective case that can take punishment is recommended.

“The ‘anything-proof’ design of the Rugged Pro Connect means this keyboard is water resistant, protects against spills, and can withstand being wiped down with medical-grade disinfecting products,” said Chris Ahern, CEO of Zagg, in a statement. “It’s ideally suited for everyone from healthcare professions to parents with children and everyone in between.”

This is a case and keyboard in one. And they can be separated when typing isn’t needed. The keyboard has interlocking, “Stay-Put” Keys that won’t pop off.

The Rugged Pro Connect is the first keyboard from Zagg to draw power from and transfers data directly with the iPad. No batteries, keyboard charging or Bluetooth pairing required.

The Rugged Pro Connect launched today on Zagg’s website. It costs $169.99, and fits the seventh, eighth and ninth generations of Apple’s 10.2-inch iPad.

Zagg also offers the less expensive Pro Keys keyboard case for the budget iPad. And there’s a version with a trackpad, too.
