
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has announced its investment in Ampere, an EV and software company to be established by the Renault Group. The maximum investment in Ampere will be 200 million euros.
Ampere is expected to have up a team of around 10,000 employees, of which one third will be engineers.
It’s targeting 40% cost reduction on a car-by-car basis in next vehicles generation by 2027+.
In a press statement, Mitsubishi says: ‘Through this initiative, Mitsubishi Motors aims to further improve its EV development technology and to expand its line-up of EV. As a first step of this collaboration, Ampere will supply an EV on an OEM basis in the European market’.

Mitsubishi Motors is a global automobile company based in Tokyo, Japan, which has about 30,000 employees and a global footprint with production facilities around the world.
