Apple is now inviting the owners of the new iPhone 14 to be part of its monumental addition of the satellite texting feature for emergencies, part of its SOS feature available on the device. All iPhones have the SOS feature, but only the latest iPhone 14 is with the capability to connect to satellites, especially when there is no cellular signal.

The new testing feature will also help to familiarize the new owners with using this feature which would help in their needs.

This is a public service announcement to all iPhone 14 users, and you should immediately look into this feature for your needs, especially when encountering emergencies. Apple making its latest feature available for testing and the experience of many, focusing on the satellite features of the iPhone 14 series.

According to 9to5 Mac, Apple will soon make the feature available for all by November via the iOS 16.1 release, and it aims to help the public get more ways to connect to others and let them know of their situations.

The internal files of the company revealed that they are already setting up the availability and use of the satellite texting feature, soon for SOS messaging and emergencies.

How to Test the Satellite Texting for iPhone 14

Apple is testing its emergency texting feature to connect to satellites which need a person to turn on different directions to ensure connections and text deliveries for all. Users are invited to try the new feature and utilize the latest addition to the iPhone 14.

First, users need to ensure that they are outdoors and have clear skies for this to work. Next, head to your iPhone’s Settings and scroll to Emergency SOS to begin the demonstration.

iPhone 14 and its Features

The iPhone 14 is no doubt a similar-looking device to the previous iPhone 13 lineup, but the company claimed many new things which make it different from past releases of the tech manufacturer. One of its most striking features is Dynamic Island which is only available on the Pro variants of the new smartphone release.

One of its other unique features is the satellite connectivity available from the company, but it is not exactly what the public imagined it to be in its current release. The leaks were accurate with this release of the company, particularly as it centers on the SOS emergency feature which will help to deliver distress messages of help.

It is unknown if Apple would soon elevate the satellite feature to connect to the orbiting space devices for future integration with the likes of Starlink, and others.

Apple may not have changed much for the looks and design of the new smartphone, but its new features surely make it a device worth owning, especially for those who venture outdoors. Satellite texting is a feature that all iPhone 14 owners should be aware of and adept in using for future unknown happenings one might face.
