Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 on Mac

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is a free-to-play battle royale game that combines elements of action adventure, open-world exploration, survival, and shooting. The game is the sequel to 2020’s Call of Duty: Warzone, but even though it takes inspiration from its predecessor, the title stands out with a number of new features.

Gameplay

Like in the original, the gameplay in Warzone 2.0 is based on pitting players against each other on a progressively shrinking map until only one player remains.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 (Mac)

A new map with 18 points of interest, called Al Mazrah, throws players into a desert setting. The fighters have access to new motion mechanics, such as mantling, diving, and swimming, and can explore the map by land, air, and water.

A newly introduced Circle Collapse system calls for a higher level of strategy than ever before. It operates randomly and creates up to three smaller safe zone circles all over the map. When this happens, the survivors have to move to one of these circles and stay in it until it gets combined with the others.

When a player dies, they are sent to the “Gulag”, a smaller arena where the dead fight each other for a chance to respawn in the main arena, just like in the original Warzone.

However, Gulag matches in Warzone 2.0 are played in a 2v2 style with randomly formed pairs of players. An AI fighter known as “The Jailer” appears in the matches to speed up combat. The only way out of Gulag is to either eliminate the opposing pair or kill The Jailer, in which case all four players can return to the game.

The in-game currency is back, enabling players to purchase unique items, cosmetic add-ons, and weapons at any of the shops, scattered across the map.

AI combat

Warzone 2.0 features more sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) fighters, compared to those seen in the previous game. They occupy certain parts of the map called “Strongholds” and guard them heavily. Fighting AI fighters and their strongholds is optional, but it is a way for players to gain more loot throughout the game.

A new game mode

Warzone 2.0 introduces a new “extraction mode” called DMZ. In it, players engage in combat against computer-controlled and human-controlled enemies and collect loot while searching for a way to escape the Exclusion Zone. This mode offers high-risk and high-reward gameplay since players only have one life, and if they die, they lose everything they have without going to the Gulag.

Conclusion

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is a fast-paced game, packed with action, powerful guns, loud explosions, and fierce combat, all happening on an interactive map that keeps you on your toes. The game has been released just recently, but it has everything that is needed for a promising battle royale experience.
